Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has been named the highest-rated player at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament following the conclusion of the group stage matches, underlining his outstanding impact for Nigeria so far.
According to football statistics platform WhoScored, the Atalanta attacker currently tops the AFCON player ratings chart with an impressive score of 8.36, placing him ahead of some of the continent’s biggest stars.
Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez sits second with a rating of 8.02, while fellow Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze occupies third place with 7.92.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah ranks fourth on 7.85, with Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo completing the top five at 7.73.
Lookman has been in scintillating form since the start of the tournament, playing a pivotal role in Nigeria’s dominant group-stage campaign.
The forward has registered two goals and two assists in just two matches, showcasing his sharp finishing, creativity, and overall influence in attack as the Super Eagles cruised through Group C.
Chukwueze has also been instrumental for Nigeria, contributing two assists in two matches, as the Super Eagles recorded a perfect group-stage run to finish as Group C leaders with nine points, securing qualification for the Round of 16.
