Mikel, Toure, Drogba Make Best Player Shortlist
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the three footballers vying for the right to be called the top player on the continent. <br /><br />Two - time winner of the award, Yaya Toure will compete with fellow Ivorian Didier Drogba as well as Nigeria international John Obi Mikel for the 2013 African Footballer of the Year.<br /><br />In the African Player of the Year (playing domestically) Warri Wolves midfielder Sunday Mba has been nominated alongside Egyptians Ahmed Fathy and Mohamed Abou Trika.<br /><br />Fifa Under 17 World Cup Golden Ball winner Kelechi Iheanacho, Ebenezer Assifuah and Saleh Gomaa are the top three youngsters listed for the most promising talent award.<br /><br />Nigeria manager Stephen Keshi, Golden Eaglets gaffer Manu Garba and Paul Put are the three finalists for the coach of the year award.<br /><br />The winners will receive their award at a gala ceremony in Lagos on January 9. <br /><br />Photo Credit : National Mirror<br /><br />
