Molde Announce Signing Of Nigerian Striker, But It's Not Aaron Samuel

Norwegian Tippeligaen club Molde FK have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Daniel Chima on a deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2020.

Molde FK had been linked with a move for Super Eagles frontman Aaron Samuel, only for the CSKA Moscow star to reject a return to Scandinavia.

The 26-year-old Chima is returning to Molde, from where he was sold to Chinese club Shanghai Shenxin in January 2015.

Speaking on the deal, Chima told Molde's official webpage : ''It's great to come home again. I know the club well from the previous period I was here and know what's going on.

''I have been here several times while I have been outside and have always been received as part of the family, it is absolutely amazing to know.

''I was here last in 2016, and Ole Gunnar has always said I'm welcome back. I am very, very pleased to finally be back.''

Chima is regarded as Nigeria's most successful footballer to play for a Norwegian club, having won three league titles and two FA Cups with Molde during his first spell with the club from 2010 to 2015.
