Official: Akeem Latifu Joins Sogndal Fotball On Two-Year Deal
Norwegian OBOS-ligaen team Sogndal Fotball have completed the signing of Nigeria international Akeem Latifu on a two-year contract until the end of the 2019 season.
The right-back is joining Sogndal Fotball as a free agent after parting company with Budapest Honvéd by mutual consent in November 2017.
''I'm very excited to get Latifu. He is one fast and offensive right back, and has a lot of experience at the top level,'' said sports director Håvard Flo to Sogndal's official website.
Latifu previously represented Norwegian clubs Strømsgodset, Hodd and Aalesund.
After six years in Scandinavia, the 28-year-old was acquired by Stal Dniprodzerzhynsk (Ukraine), before moving to Alanyaspor (Turkey) and Zira (Azerbaijan).
Akeem, who has two caps for the Super Eagles, was a member of the Flying Eagles squad at the 2007 Fifa U20 World Cup in Canada, where he played four games.
