Through a statement on their official website, New York Red Bulls have announced the signing of former Crystal Palace starlet Mandela Egbo, subject to the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 visa.
Egbo is joining New York Red Bulls from German 2 Bundesliga outfit SV Darmstadt 98 and will occupy an international spot on the Red Bulls roster for the 2020 season.
Red Bulls head coach Chris Armas scouted the Anglo-Nigerian fullback before they made a move for his services.
"Mandela was identified through our scouting network as an outside back with a great pedigree and qualities that translate well to our style of play," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Denis Hamlett.
"He’s young but has a ton of professional games, and has spent time developing with big clubs in Europe.
"In speaking with Mandela we know he is excited and ready for an opportunity in MLS. We look forward to getting him into camp and getting him up to speed."
A European Championship winner with England U17 team in 2014, Egbo departs SV Darmstadt 98 after six appearances.
The 22-year-old has also worn the colours of Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany.
