Trabzonspor secured a 2-1 victory over Kasımpasa on Friday, with Paul Onuachu coming off the bench to score his first goal for the club since returning from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The win came in Round 19 of the 2025-2026 Turkish Süper Lig season.
Onuachu was introduced as a substitute in the 46th minute for Kazeem Olaigbe and promptly made an impact by scoring in the 51st minute.
The goal, assisted by Christ Inao Oulaï, increased Onuachu’s total goal tally for the 2025-2026 season to 12.
The Nigerian striker had been part of the Super Eagles squad that won the bronze medal at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
During the tournament, Onuachu registered a goal for the national team, contributing to Nigeria’s podium finish.
His return to Trabzonspor was marked by an immediate contribution to the club’s ongoing Süper Lig campaign this season.
Kasımpaşa equalised in the 61st minute through Fousseni Diabaté, who finished a through ball from Irfan Can Kahveci following a fast break.
The game remained level for over 20 minutes until the 84th minute when Oleksandr Zubkov scored the decisive goal for Trabzonspor.
Zubkov’s strike, coming from the left side of the box, was assisted by Anthony Nwakaeme, securing the 2-1 victory for the home side.
