Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen continued his remarkable form for Galatasaray on Saturday, scoring a key goal in the club’s 3-0 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir in Round 26 of the Süper Lig. The goal, Galatasaray’s second of the match, marked Osimhen’s 12th goal of the league season.

Osimhen scored in the 66th minute, meeting a perfectly weighted cross from Yunus Akgun deep inside the box. 

With a composed first touch, the Nigerian striker directed the ball into the top right corner, doubling Galatasaray’s lead following Wilfried Singo’s opening goal from a Noa Lang free-kick in the 57th minute. 

The second-half strike not only secured the team’s advantage but also etched Osimhen’s name into the club’s history books.

Osimhen extended his remarkable streak, scoring or assisting in nine consecutive Süper Lig games. 

During this period, he found the net nine times and also provided four assists, demonstrating a consistent ability to influence Galatasaray’s attacking play. 

According to Opta Can, this streak is the longest recorded by a Galatasaray player since Opta began collecting this data in 2014-2015.

Galatasaray wrapped up the win in the 84th minute when Renato Nhaga, introduced as a second-half substitute, finished a well-timed pass from Yunus Akgun to make it 3-0. 

The victory consolidates Galatasaray’s position in the Süper Lig while also shining a spotlight on Osimhen’s record-breaking run. 

His consistent scoring and playmaking contributions make him an indispensable asset for the Istanbul-based club as they continue their league campaign.
