Napoli's sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has made it clear that the club have no plans to fine their record acquisition Victor Osimhen despite his late return from international duty.
The Super Eagles striker, who went the distance in both games against Ghana in the 2022 World Cup playoff, has yet to show up in Naples as at Sunday afternoon.
Giuntoli has confirmed that the Nigerian was granted permission to delay his arrival to attend to personal matters, adding that he was not eligible to be fielded in yesterday's clash against Atalanta.
The number 9 was suspended for the trip to Bergamo after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season in the closing minutes of the 2-1 win over Udinese in the last game before the international break.
Speaking to DAZN via Spazionapoli, Giuntoli explained on Sunday afternoon: "There is no Osimhen case: he asked for leave for personal reasons.
"By the way, he was also disqualified for today's match. Victor is an extraordinary guy , a great professional and is loved by everyone .
"We never communicate our internal situations, I don't understand why these problems always come up. Fine ? But no, absolutely!"
Osimhen has notched fifteen goals in 25 appearances across all competitions for the Blues this season.
