Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Tochi Chukwuani scored his first Scottish Premiership goal for Rangers as the Scottish giants secured a 4–1 victory over Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on Saturday.
The 22-year-old opened the scoring in the first half, capping a brilliant team move after the visitors failed to clear their lines inside the box.
Chukwuani reacted quickest to a loose ball on the edge of the box, firing home after Mikey Moore’s initial effort was blocked.
The goal was his second for Rangers in all competitions, after he previously found the net in the 8–0 victory over Queen’s Park Rangers in a Cup match.
Moore, who is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, later doubled Rangers’ advantage shortly after the restart before Dennis Geiger pulled one back for the visitors.
Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin scored the third goal, before James Tavernier sealed the victory with Rangers’ fourth in the closing minutes of the game
Since arriving during the winter transfer window, Chukwuani has quickly established himself as an important figure in the Rangers midfield.
The Danish-born midfielder has impressed with his composure on the ball and tactical awareness to help the team maintain control in the middle of the park.
His latest performance further highlights his growing influence at the club, as Rangers continue their push for the title alongside rivals Celtic and Heart of Midlothian.
Despite representing Denmark at several youth levels, Chukwuani remains eligible to play for the Super Eagles, as he has not yet made a senior appearance for the Denmark national team.
