OGUN FA Backs NUPENG Boss Soccer Tourney Which Gets New Date
Published: November 29, 2013Ogun State Football Association has backed the grassroots soccer tournament initiated by the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Petroleum & Natural Gas Workers, (NUPENG) Lagos state zone, Comrade Tokunbo Najeemdeen Korodo tagged ‘Korodo National Under-18 Unity Soccer Tourney’ now scheduled to commence on 8th December at MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta Ogun State.
The shift in date according to the organizer of the of the money spinning soccer event, Professional Sports International was done with the aim of giving the tourney that supposed to have kicked -off 24th November the best logistics and all attention it deserved.
The NUPENG boss who is bankrolling the tourney has also reaffirmed his vow of making the soccer tourney a memorable with provision of huge cash prizes and mouthwatering incentives for all winners and all participating teams that are expected to come from all the states of the federations for the maiden tourney.
Saying “Football is a very good tool in engaging and empowerment our youths because it’s a game they loved most and it would also complements the efforts of government in area of crime control and grassroots sports development”.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State FA after scrutinizing the organizer of the event has endorsed and threw its weight behind the soccer
championship, while promising all states that would be coming into the state’s capital, Abeokuta a warm reception and secured atmosphere during their 2 weeks stay in the rock city.
