Emenike, Enyeama, Mikel Make Shortlist For African Player Of The Year
Confederation of African Football, CAF has released a shortlist of ten contenders for the title of African Footballer of the Year, for the period ended 2013.

Nigeria has the highest representation with four Super Eagles named followed by the Elephants of Ivory Coast with two.

Emmanuel Emenike (Fenerbahce), Vincent Enyeama (Lille), John Obi Mikel (Chelsea) and Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow) made the shortlist.

To scoop the top individual award in Africa, the Nigerians will have to battle Didier Drogba (Galatasaray), Yaya Toure (Manchester City), Asamoah Gyan (Al Ain), Jonathan Pitroipa (Rennes), Mohamed Aboutreika (Al Ahly) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ( Borussia Dortmund).

Nigeria international Sunday Mba is one of the five players nominated for African Player of the Year (based in Africa).

The winners will be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala scheduled for Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria.
