Onyekachi Apam Plays Down Reports Linking Him With Chicago Fire
Published: December 18, 2013Rennes defender Onyekachi Apam has reacted to online speculations linking him with a move to Major Soccer League outfit Chicago Fire in the winter transfer market which opens in exactly two weeks time.
One of the coaches handling the academy side of the Men in Red was quoted to have said that the club are interested in the Nigeria international.
But the former Enugu Rangers star claims he has not been approached by Chicago Fire through his agent .
“At the moment, I am not negotiating with any club. I am looking forward to January.
“I have not been in contact with my agent for a while, not discussed anything about Chicago Fire with him,”says Onyekachi Apam to allnigeriasoccer.com.
26 - year - old Apam joined Rennes from OGC Nice in the summer of 2010, meaning he runs out of contract in the next six months and can start discussing openly with a new team in a matter of days.
