Official : Samson Godwin Retires From Football
Published: January 14, 2014Samson Godwin has announced his retirement from football at the age of 30, the official website of Ukrainian Premier League outfit FC Karpaty has reported.
The midfielder decided to quit after a career spanning close to 14 years, representing Gabros, GKS Katowice, Shakhter Karagandy , Minsk and Karpaty amongst others.
In a statement posted on the official website fckarpaty.lviv.ua, the leadership of the club thanked the Nigerian for many years of loyalty to the team, for his character and patriotism and also wished him success in future work.
Karpaty have rewarded Samson Godwin by offering him a position in the football department.
He became an Ukrainian citizen in 2008.
