AIK Block Kennedy Igboananike Transfer To Rubin Kazan
Published: March 02, 2014AIK have blocked the transfer of Kennedy Igboananike to Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan, informs Expressen.
The Swedish newspaper writes on its electronic edition that Rubin Kazan tabled an offer for the signature of the 25 - year - old striker before teams were permitted to conclude their transfer market business in Russia.
But the bid was rejected outright as AIK insisted that they will not allow the Nigerian leave for a foreign club in the winter transfer market.
Southampton tried to sign Kennedy Igboananike over the summer but their attempt was futile as he does not have enough caps to qualify for a work permit.
Indeed, the one - time Djurgården attacker has not been capped at international level by the Nigeria selectors and this also contributed to the reason his other suitors - West Ham, Crystal Palace and Fulham - failed in their attempt to lure him to England.
