Gege Soriola Set To Dump Free State Stars For Israeli Club
Published: April 20, 2014Israeli club Maccabi Netanya are on the brink of announcing the acquisition of Free State Stars stopper Gege Soriola, according to Sports Walla.
The 25 - year - old, who has caps for the National Team of Nigeria, had been invited to train with the National League team but he rejected their overtures, insisting that he should be offered a straight contract.
Yossi Mizrahi, manager of the second - tier champions, had no choice but to yield to the demands of Soriola and his representative although this has not been rubber-stamped by the Maccabi Netanya higher ups.
Two other Nigerians - Emmanuel Sunday and Heartland midfielder Obinna Nwachukwu - are also being courted by the Diamonds.
Thus, as many as four Nigerian players could be on the payroll of Maccabi Netanya next season as Kayode Olarenwaju has given his word that he will pen a new deal this coming week.
