Abia Warriors Peter Onyekachi Dedicates First Premier League Goal To Mom
Lanky striker Peter Onyekachi netted his first goal in the Glo Premier League as Abia Warriors defeated Sunshine Stars in the seventh round of matches.

And the 22 - year - old has expressed delight at finally ending his goal drought in the 1 - 0 win over their more illustrious opponents.

He received a pass from a teammate and after controlling the ball, pushed it to his left foot and fired past Ikechukwu Ezenwa who was between the pipes for Sunshine Stars.

“It was a thing of joy because I have been patiently waiting for this day and it came to pass. I am dedicating the goal to my mother because she always encouraged me to score for her.

“It was also nice to score against Sunshine Stars because some of their players were my teammates at their nursery team, Rising Stars.

“I could have remained with them but my manager told me to return due to problems with my clearance,”Onyekachi told allnigeriasoccer.com.

Abia Warriors sit sixth on the table with 11 points from 6 matches played.
