Warri Wolves lifted their third straight Delta State Federation Cup after a hard fought 1 - 0 victory over part - timers Bobbies United.
A first half header by central defender Ike ThankGod decided the outcome of the meeting staged at the Warri Township Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The 29 - year - old has declared that the opponents gave them a run for their money but experience prevailed in the end.
“I would like to dedicate this goal to my darling wife and my one - year - old daughter, Adaeze Christabel. They are both very dear to me
“It was a tough match, it was like a World Cup final to Bobbies United and they gave everything. They wanted to prove they were good and deserve to be in the final but we were able to win.
“I think Azubuike Egwuekwe and I did well at defense. We have been playing together since I came to this club and we know each other well,” Ike ThankGod said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The out - of - favour Nigeria international had been missing from the Warri Wolves lineup in recent games due to an ankle injury he picked up during the CAF Confederation Cup home fixture against CA Bizertin but was certified fit for the final.
