Ejike Uzoenyi Admits Enugu Rangers Lost Concentration Against Bayelsa United
Published: May 07, 2014
Nigeria international Ejike Uzoenyi went straight to the point when quizzed on the reason behind Enugu Rangers conceding four goals against Bayelsa United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in the Glo Premier League on Wednesday.
In the see-saw game which ended 4 - 3, Ejike Uzoenyi, Osaghona Ighodaro and Abubakar Umar were on target for the Coal City outfit while West, Peter Ebimobowei and Ebitimi Agogu converted the chances for the home team.
“I won’t blame the pitch for our performance today. Ogbe Stadium has one of the best pitches I have played on in the Nigeria League.
“We had the game in our hands but threw it away. We just gave them the match and in a way lost concentration,” the winger told allnigeriasoccer.com.
The African Nations Championship bronze medalist is one of the 30 players summoned for a training camp ahead of the Super Eagles participation in the mundial.
“When I learnt my name was on the list, I was happy and praised Jesus for his faithfulness.”
Enugu Rangers provisionally occupy the 11th position in the official Premier League standings but only 5 points separate them from log leaders Sharks of Port Harcourt
