Oguchi Onyewu Fishing For Return To Newcastle United
Published: May 17, 2014Oguchi Onyewu comes off contract with Sheffield Wednesday on June 30, 2014 and the priority of the central defender is to continue plying his trade in the United Kingdom.
In addition to the USA international’s stint at Hillsborough Stadium, the 32 - year - old had earlier been on the books of Newcastle United and Queens Park Rangers, for whom he did not make a first team appearance.
“Right now no decisions have been made but I’m aiming to stay in the UK.
“It’s always a possibility that I will stay at Wednesday, but I want to weigh my options before I make a final decision.
“Who knows, maybe I’ll have the opportunity to play for Newcastle again, you never know,” Onyewu was quoted as saying by the online edition of Daily Mail.
Onyewu recorded 18 starts for the Owls in the English Championship this past season.
