Shola Ameobi Refuses To Extend Newcastle Deal
Published: May 18, 2014Nigeria international Shola Ameobi is set to end his close to two decades collaboration with Newcastle United, according to reporting by the British edition of The Sun.
The experienced forward has turned down the chance to prolong his stay at St James Park, with his current deal officially set to expire at the end of next month.
Newcastle power brokers had offered him a one - year extension but the ex England youth - teamer has rejected their proposal, knowing that he would put himself in the shop window if he makes the Super Eagles World Cup roster.
And everything indicates that he will sign for a new club after the tournament in Brazil.
Shola Ameobi has made over 300 appearances for the Magpies in the championship since his debut against Chelsea in September 2000.
