Metalist Kharkiv Pass Up Chance To Sign Emmanuel Okoduwa
Published: August 13, 2014Metalist Kharkiv have passed up the chance to sign free agent Emmanuel Okoduwa, after earlier reports suggested an imminent shift.
Sport.com.ua says the experienced striker trained with the Ukrainian Premier League club for one day, but a contract was not offered to him mainly because he was lacking matching fitness.
That said, Emmanuel Okoduwa has not played an official game for close to 19 months, with his last club game coming in January 2013.
In Ukraine, the 30 - year - old has turned out for Arsenal Kiev, Dynamo Kiev, Shakhtar Donetsk, Metalurh Donetsk and Vorskla Poltava in the past.
He was the top marksman in the Ukrainian Premier League with 15 goals in 2006.
