Re Stephen Keshi : SWAN Told To Wake Up As Ade Ojeikere Is Commended
Wake up S.W.A.N. It is sad the Sports Writers  Association of Nigeria (SWAN) is sitting arms folded while our football is sinking by the day.

Only Ade Ojeikere is single-handedly fighting the cause of salvaging our football in his weekly “Ade Ojeikere on Saturday” commentary (could be there are others but because I’m a daily reader of Sporting Life).

Most other sports journalists use their programs on radio and television to only and fearfully ask people tocomment on a serious burning issue such as the appointment or otherwise of a Coach for the Super Eagles.

They all shy away from preaching the naked truth that what Nigeria need is a new coach for the Super Eagles.

SWAN, as a body, is expected to come out collectively, and as quickly as possible too, with one voice to condemn anyone or group of people who are lobbying for  Stephen Keshi’s contract to be extended.

This is the only way SWAN can save Nigeria’s football. I was one of those who prayed for Keshi to be engaged by Equatorial Guinea.

Unfortunately what could have left our football to be at rest never materialized. And so we remain to fight against someone who believes that without coaching the Super Eagles, heavens must fall.

Who has not heard that Kwesi Appiah who took Ghana to the World Cup in Brazil has got another job?

Credit must also go to those who have in the past and continue to tell Mr. Keshi what he is not seeing.

They include Christian Chukwu, Amodu Shuaibu, Chief Onigbinde, Kashimwo Laloko, and most recently Joe Erico.

This man has totally lost his conscience he doesn’t hear what people are saying about him rather he has resolved  to continue to create problems for the country whose National Honor he holds as well as the NFF management who are aware, will achieve nothing with this man.

Perhaps SWAN’s collective voice will be heard by the powers that be, than those ineffective comments on radio and television phone-in programs.

Please wake up SWAN before it gets too late. Kindly call an emergency meeting on this issue and come out with
your Resolution for our country’s football.
