According to philly.com, the 28 - year - old is set to pen a multi - year contract with the MLS side, which will bring down the curtain on his career with Stoke City, who owned his rights.
Philadelphia Union paid the English Premier League side a transfer fee for shredding the agreement they have with Maurice Edu.
The midfielder represented clubs in Scotland, England and Turkey before returning to his homeland to join Philadelphia Union.
In the 2014 campaign, Maurice Edu appeared 31 times in the MLS, scoring 3 goals in the process.
