Austrian Bundesliga powerhouse Rapid Vienna have turned down the opportunity to sign  Macauley Chrisantus.

Sportnet.at  says the Golden Shoe winner at the 2007 Fifa Under 17 World Cup had been offered to the club by an agency.

But the higher ups at The Green - Whites passed up the chance of acquiring the soon - to - be free agent.

Sturm Graz had courted the former Nigeria youth international, but the forward failed to agree terms with them before he joined Las Palmas in Spain in 2012.
