And soon after the result of the medical examination was known, the Super Eagles forward penned a two - year contract with the Japanese topflight team.
The 31 - year - old is delighted to complete his move to the 1996 J. League Cup winners, saying the championship has several talented players, and is the biggest in Asia.
Cumulatively, Peter Utaka scored 37 goals in 79 appearances for Shanghai Shenxin, Dalian Aerbin and Beijing Guoan.
