Published: March 26, 2015
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the League Management Company ( LMC) has warned Gabros FC to stop parading itself as Ifeanyi Ubah FC.
Before the start of the Nigeria Professional Football League season, the Nnewi - based side, financed by Chief Gabriel Chukwuma, proclaimed that Ifeanyi Ubah had acquired the club’s slot in the topflight.
And it is thought that money exchanged hands, with the sum of =N=100 million (equivalent of $500,000) being mooted as the cash paid by Ifeanyi Ubah for Gabros FC’s acquisition.
But the LMC has stated that there are laid down procedures and criteria to effect change of names and ownership, and Gabros has not yet informed the company of its intention to have a new name for the 2015 season.
Businessman Ifeanyi Ubah has been supportive of Gabros FC in recent times and sponsored to the team to Europe for pre - season training before the league began.
