Nine Nigerian Players Miss Out On MLS Team Of the Week, As Obafemi Martins Makes ONLY The Bench

The official website of the MLS has published the Team of the Week for the seventh round of matches.
For the second straight week, no Nigerian player was picked amongst the outstanding eleven players in the American top division.
Maurice Edu (Philadelphia Union), Fatai Alashe, Innocent Emeghara ( both San Jose Earthquakes), Amobi Okugo (Orlando City) and Tesho Akindele (FC Dallas) were all in action for their respective clubs this past weekend.
Other players of Nigerian descent that got game time include Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders ), Sam Adekugbe(Vancouver Whitecaps), Jalil Anibaba (Sporting KC), Fanendo Adi (Portland Timbers).
Though former Nigeria international Martins missed out on the starting XI for the Team of the Week, he was named on the bench.
