Asisat Oshoala Celebrates Nomination For Women Footballer of the Year Award By Scoring Against Manchester City
Published: April 26, 2015Nigeria international Asisat Oshoala has been nominated for the maiden BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year Award.
The Liverpool striker has been shortlisted alongside four other players - Veronica Boquete (Spain and FFC Frankfurt), Nadine Kessler (Germany and VFL Wolfsburg), Kim Little (Scotland and Seattle Reign FC) and Marta (Brazil and FC Rosengard).
The award will be voted on by fans at the BBC website here and the use of SMS text messaging.
The winner of the accolade will be announced on BBC World Service on Tuesday May 26.
Asisat Oshoala is the current African Women’s Footballer of the Year and African Women’s Youth Player of the Year.
The 20 - year - old has scored 2 goals in 4 appearances in the Super League, including her 10th minute strike against Manchester City on Sunday.
