Women League Begins 2015 World Cup Break
The Board of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has announced the commencement of a World Cup break for all its League clubs with effect from 20th May, 2015.

In a release in Abuja, the Secretary of the League Board Isaac Ajisafe said “In consideration of Nigeria’s participation in the 2015 FIFA Women World Cup in Canada, we wish to inform all Women League clubs that the NWFL after due consultations has decided to stop the Women League temporarily with effect from 20th May, 2015 and throughout the period of the Women World cup. The League will resume after the Super Falcons returns to Nigeria”.

Continuing, the scribe said “Please be informed that the decision is imperative so as to allow clubs, players and officials and all concern football loving Nigerians to actively support the Super Falcons of Nigeria in her quest to win the 2015 FIFA World Cup, and moreso, that most of the players playing in the league will definitely feature for Nigeria in the World cup”he concluded.

Hea advised Nigerians to pray for the success of the Super Falcons at the competition, as the girls are very determined to surpass their quarter final records of 1999 in USA.
