Fatai Alashe And Boyd Okwuonu Star For USA In Surprise Win Over Holland At Toulon Tournament
Published: May 29, 2015San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Fatai Alashe was handed his first start by USA U20s coach, Andi Herzog, on Friday at the ongoing Toulon Tournament in France.
Real Salt Lake defender Boyd Okwuonu, wearing the number 3 jersey , was in action for 72 minutes before he was replaced 18 minutes from time by Jalen Robinson.
The United States U23s came from behind to defeat Netherlands 3 - 1 with Kiesewetter, Hernandez and Pckwood scoring for the Americans.
The 21 - year - old Alashe would have given the USA a 2 - 1 lead in the 21st minute when he ripped a shot which was deflected for a corner by goalkeeper Jesse Bertrams.
In their next fixture on May 31, the USA will face Costa Rica.
