Nigeria Professional Football League Team Of The Round 14
Published: June 29, 2015
The formation chosen for Team of The Week by Ademetan Abayomi is a 4-2-3-1 with a number of exciting talents in the line up.
Sani Haliru – Wikki Tourists
Was often called into action and did everything he was asked to do with aplomb. Showed good concentration levels and ball handling. He was excellent in goal.
Alex Emenike – Enugu Rangers
Solid in defence and always willing to push forward when needed. Scored the only goal and tested the opposing goalkeeper on a couple of occasions.
Oke Ogagotewho - Warri Wolves
Another excellent display from the defender. Won everything in the air and did not let any of the Akwa United forwards get the better of him.
Emenike Onuoha - Wikki Tourists
Always alert and snuffed out any danger as soon as it emerged. Kept Ifeanyi Uba FC strikers under wraps for the majority of the game and was never flustered in possession.
Zikiye Jonathan - Dolphins FC
Went up and down the flank tirelessly during the match against Kano Pillars. Defended reasonably well and scored a spectacular goal to get his side back in the match.
Saleh Mohammed - Giwa FC
He was immense at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, winning countless tackles and screening his back four expertly as Giwa FC executed their counter attacking plan to perfection.
An unsung hero at the moment, but most likely not for much longer if he continues to put in performances like this, especially the way he scored the second goal.
Ebere Odiche - Heartland FC
The creative outlet for the Heartland side. Was unfazed against Sharks midfielders. His vision was amazing.
Ezekiel Bassey - Enyimba FC
Was the People’s Elephants main outlet with his pace and trickery. Appears to be growing in confidence and maturity. Provided the assists that resulted to goals from Christian Obiozor and Ifeanyi George.
Abdulazeez Awakan - Akwa United
Rescued a point for the Promise Keepers against Wolves. Netted the all important leveller and was the only Akwa United player who posed any real threat during the ninety minutes.
Muyiwa Lawal - Shooting Stars
The former Atlético Madrid and Córdoba man continues his revival in the Premier League, this time with a super-sub performance against FC Taraba. Was a constant thorn to the defender, gilding past them with ease. His late free-kick was well
execute.
Chukwudi Samuel - Wikki Tourists
The forward was quiet for large spells but reminded everyone of his unique talent with a delicious goal that fired his team to the top.
