Published: August 30, 2015
FC Dallas’ Nigerian - Canadian front - man Tesho Akindele was delighted to get on the score - sheet in his side’s 2 - 0 win against Real Salt lake in the MLS in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Prior to the contest at the Toyota Stadium, the Canada international had promised to score and he did walk the walk after finding the back of the net in the 51st minute from the penalty spot.
“I told them I’d repay them with a goal, I said, ‘I’m going to score a goal tonight, and I’m going to come celebrate with you,” Akindele was quoted as saying by mlssoccer.com.
I think I made my case to start in the future.
“At the end of the day, it’s the coach’s decision, obviously, but I’m happy with my performance.”
Tesho Akindele has been named in the starting line - up 10 times in the ongoing campaign while he came off the bench on 11 occasions.
