Ilves Striker Henry Ugwunna Pleased To Score Maiden Veikkausliiga Goal
Published: October 05, 2015Ilves frontman Henry Ugwunna was delighted to score his maiden goal in the Veikkausliiga against one of the contenders for the title, SJK, on game week 31.
The former Brazilian - based attacker only resumed duties with the first team mid September after spending seven months on the sidelines due to an injury he picked up in the League Cup against KuPS.
“It was a difficult game playing against the league leaders. The result wasn’t favorable but we did our best and I am happy to score my first goal of the season, ” Henry Ugwunna told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“That was my third game of the season, I got injured on my knee during the League Cup game in February and I have been out for 7 months.
“It feels good to be back and able to score after a long time off. I am looking forward to giving my best in the remaining part of the season.”
Henry Ugwunna netted in the 53rd minute in Ilves’ 2 - 1 loss to SJK at Seinäjoen keskuskenttä on Sunday afternoon.
