The Board of the FCT Football Association has approved the proposal of its Women Football Development Committee to organize a pre-season football tournament for League clubs in country.

Revealing this after its Board meeting at the weekend, the Chairman of the FCT FA Women Football Development Committee Barrister Victoria Nlemigbo said that the tournament would be aimed at preparing the Women teams in country for the new football season.
Quoting her words, the legal practitioner said : “ We intend to involve only ten teams which would be on first come, first serve basis.
“We are extending invitations to teams like Rivers Angels, Sunshine Queens, Confluence Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, COD Angels, Kolo Amazons, Abia Angels, Delta Queens, Capital City Doves, Bayelsa Queens, Beautiful Tours Angels, State House Angels among others.
“A time deadline would be given to them to signify their interest to participate, after which, other interested teams would take their place.
“We want to ensure that our Women teams are fully prepared before the kick-off of the new football season which the League Secretariat has fixed for 20th February.
“The tournament would give the clubs the opportunity to access their new signings, and make all adjustments before the kickoff date” she said.
Barrister Nlemigbo further revealed that trophies and souvenirs would be given out at the end of the tournament, which would now be a yearly programme.
