New Shooting Stars Coach Kadiri Ikhana To Pocket N14.4 Million Per Season

After two hours of negotiations between football stakeholders in Oyo State that comprises of the Chairman House Committee on Sports, Hon Fatai Adesina, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youths and Sports, Mrs. Lolade Agboola, the Chairman 3SC Supporters Club, Alhaji. Sina Inolaji and the Chairman Oyo State Football Association, Chief James Odeniran with Coach Kadiri Ikhana, the later on Monday agreed to a pay cut to join the Oluyole Warrior as technical adviser.
The influential coach, according to him was on N1.8 million naira salary at Enyimba where he worked last but was persuaded by the negotiating crew to take N1.2 million as his monthly wages which he agreed but insisted on using hotel accommodation as against the residential arrangement earlier made by the club.
The permanent secretary of the ministry of Youth and Sport, Mrs. Lolade Agboola who led the negotiation team however, gave the coach a target, which is a continental ticket for the team at the end of the season.
The former CAF coach of the year, while reacting to the development pleaded for total cooperation from every stakeholder in the state, especially the general manager of the club, Rashidi Balogun, stressing that Ibadan football terrace is known to be a volatile one because of the strong passion the people have for the club and only cooperation from all and sundry can bring the much expected result.
The Oyo State Head of Service, Mr. Soji Eniade who hosted the new coach and the negotiating team in his office moment after the deal was brokered charged 3SC management to henceforth see football from business point of view and cultivate how to use the venture to generates revenue for the government.
“With the situation in the country, every government agency should look inward and fashion out how to increase its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) drives, and football globally is a money spinning venture if well managed.
“Thank God we now have a renowned Coach like Kadiri Ikanna that had made his mark in Nigerian football, now we should use every opportunity to our advantage so that we can achieve the dream of getting a continental ticket at the end of the season and the club could generate good revenue for the government”, the Oyo HoS who claimed to be a passionate follower of the club noted.
