Enyimba Hero Mfon Udoh Not Disappointed He Did Not Net Hat-trick
Published: February 29, 2016
Mfon Udoh was satisfied with his brace as Enyimba saw off Vipers SC to advance to the first round of the CAF Champions League on Sunday.
Enyimba’s fortress is still undergoing renovation, hence the visitors from Uganda had to be entertained at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, and Udoh has thanked the passionate Port Harcourt fans for their show of solidarity.
“The Port Harcourt fans supported good game, they applauded both teams when they did well, it was great, ” said Mfon Udoh to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The Nigeria international opened scoring in the 31st minute after he converted a penalty kick before sealing qualification for the People’s Elephant with his second of the afternoon just past the hour mark.
“The officiating was very okay and it was a well deserved penalty. The opponent didn’t complain.
“I wasn’t disappointed I didn’t get a hat-trick because the two goals were enough to see us through,” Udoh added.
Enyimba have represented Nigeria in the Champions League nine times, including this season, and have reached the semifinals on four occasions, winning it back to back in 2003 and 2004.
