Arsenal Slayer Odion Ighalo Says He Was Bothered By Goal Drought
Watford striker Odion Ighalo has admitted that he was bothered by his goal drought but took an amount of solace in the fact that manager Sanchez Flores kept faith with him during his dry spell.

The Nigeria international’s lack of goals in his last seven games was the main talking point days leading up to the FA Cup clash against Arsenal, but he silenced his critics after hitting target in the 50th minute at the Emirates.

“Goals always give confidence to strikers. When you’re not scoring you think about a lot of things and do things you shouldn’t do,”  said Odion Ighalo to Hornets PlayerHD.

“But the gaffer has always said that I’m doing everything right and that I just need to keep working hard and doing what I’m doing, and the goal will come.

“Sometimes I feel like I’m letting the team down by not getting the goals because when you don’t score goals you don’t win games. So that’s why every time I want to do my best and try to score.”

Including his strike against the Gunners, Ighalo has netted twice in the FA Cup and 16 in all competitions since the start of this season.
