Ex-Barcelona Winger Amuneke Congratulates Egypt For Win Over Nigeria
Published: March 30, 2016Ex-Zamalek winger Emmanuel Amuneke has congratulated Egypt in the wake of their 1-0 victory over Nigeria in an African Cup of Nations qualifier on Tuesday night at the Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
And the Super Eagles assistant coach has said that the North Africans were successful against Nigeria because they played as a unit and worked hard for each other, especially in defense and midfield.
“Egyptian team played very well , and the advantage is that the players have performed as a united team, perhaps it is because they are playing for a long time with each other,”Amuneke told filgoal.com.
“It is true that the Egyptian national team did not qualify for the Nations Cup three times since, but it is obvious that the players keep playing the same way.
“All I can do now is to send congratulations to them on this good game.”
Now 45, Emmanuel Amuneke starred for Zamalek from 1991-1994 before moving to Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona.
