Published: March 31, 2016
English Premier League side Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Freddie Ladapo from non-league side Margate, subject to approval from The Premier League and The Football Association.
The 23-year-old has appended his signature to a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Eagles following a successful trial in which he scored a hat-trick for the Under 21 team.
Ladapo started his career with Colchester United, where he spent four years and turned professional in 2011.
Whilst at The U’s, he spent time on loan at Thurrock, Chelmsford City, Bishop’s Stortford, Woking, Nuneaton Town, Kidderminster Harriers, Hayes & Yeading United and Grays Athletic.
In 49 outings for Margate, Freddie Ladapo netted 23 goals.
He trained with the Flying Eagles ahead of the 2011 Fifa Under 20 World Cup but did not make the squad for the tournament in Colombia.
