Published: April 20, 2016
Hapoel Beer Sheva have crashed out of the Israeli State Cup following their 3-1 loss to Maccabi Haifa in the semifinal on Wednesday night.
Based on their position in the league, The Camels had been favourites to beat the opponents but went down 3-0 until Tony Nwakaeme netted a consolation in the 87th minute.
Out-of-favour Nigeria international John Ogu was rated average by the experts who pointed out that he was not purposeful with the ball.
“Tried to push the game forward, but there was no dominance and aggressiveness as usual,”one.co.il who scored Ogu five marks said.
Authoritative Israeli website Sports Walla still awarded him five marks, stating : “Trying to do things the normal way, but had trouble facing the players surrounding him all the time and made poor decisions at large. Rather lukewarm.”
John Ogu has been one of the standout players for Hapoel Beer Sheva this season, with four goals registered, and has been yellow-carded eight times.
