Newman Musa Set For Lobi Stars
Published: May 06, 2016Former Sunshine Stars of Akure front man, Newman Musa will be a major boost for Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos as they face Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash.
MFM FC will be guest of the Benue side in match day 15 of the NPFL coming up this weekend at the Aper Aku Stadium.
Newman didn’t feature for the Lagos-based team in their last league match against Akwa United which they won by three goals to nothing at the Agege Stadium due to suspension but he’s expected to return to coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’s match day squad for the weekend tie.
Speaking to mountaintopfc.com, Newman said he hopes to put up another scintillating performance this weekend.
“Our reaction against Nasarawa United was very very great in our first league match and the spirit was high as the boys put up their best and God crowned our effort and we got the three points in the game.
“We are going back there this weekend with the same spirit because in the training session this morning the boys showed fighting spirit and I believe the coaches too have confidence in the boys.
“My reaction towards the game is going to be extra-ordinary. I will try my best to make sure we get a good result over there by the power of God Almighty on our side.
“We are going all out for the three points. I pray and I wish that my goals will count again on that ground because that was the
same ground I scored my first league goal this season” he told mountaintopfc.com.
The Olukoya Boys recorded their first NPFL 2-1 win over Nasarawa United Football Club of Lafia the last time they played at the same Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, Benue State in match day 1 of the ongoing top-flight season with Musa scoring a goal and also assisted Onuwa Chukwuka for the second goal.
