Iheanacho Wins Three Gongs At Manchester City Alternative End of Season Awards
Published: May 18, 2016Kelechi Iheanacho has been recognized for his outstanding contribution to Manchester City over the course of the 2015-2016 season, with the official website of the Citizens handing him three awards at their informal Alternative End of Season awards.
The Nigeria international picked up the Best Fluke Goal award for his strike against Swansea City in December. The ex-Golden Eaglets star was credited with the goal in added time after Yaya Toure’s curling effort deflected off him.
He was nominated for the Best Consolation Goal for his screamer against Southampton, but the award was eventually handed out to Sergio Aguero for his goal in the 4-1 loss to Liverpool.
The 19-year-old Iheanacho got an honourable mention in the Individual Performance of the Season for his hat-trick versus Aston Villa. Argentine star Aguero beat him to the accolade thanks to his five goals against Newcastle United.
The Taye Academy product won the Best Disallowed Goal for his cancelled goal against Bournemouth and the Best First Touch award for his strike against Crystal Palace after coming on as a late substitute.
The rest of the winners will be announced by the official website of Manchester City on Thursday.
