Seven Players Of Nigerian Descent Retained By Chelsea
Published: June 10, 2016Chelsea will be keeping Nigeria internationals John Obi Mikel, Kenneth Omeruo and Victor Moses in their squad list ahead of the start of pre-season training, the Premier League has officially informed through its official website.
Mikel will enter the final twelve months of his contract with the Blues on July 1 and has stated that he would love to remain at Stamford Bridge ahead of the upcoming season.
As for Omeruo and Moses, they have spent the last two seasons on loan having failed to break into the first team.
In the same vein, England youth internationals Dominic Solanke, Fikayo Tomori and Ike Ugbo were all retained by Chelsea but their status could change before the 2016-2017 season begins.
Ola Aina was also retained but might leave Chelsea this summer if he does not sign the new contract that he has been offered.
