Iheanacho, Iwobi, Ighalo, Mikel Know Premier League Opponents On Opening Day Of The Season
The Premier League announced the schedule for the 2016-2017 campaign on Wednesday morning, and there are some interesting matchups involving players of Nigerian descent on the opening day, August 13, 2016.

If Alex Iwobi is not with the Olympic squad in Brazil, he will welcome England youth internationals Jordon Ibe and Sheyi Ojo to the Emirates.

Another player that is being touted to make the Nigeria U23s squad is John Obi Mikel, meaning he will not be available for selection when Chelsea face Angelo Ogbonna’s West Ham in a London derby.

The same applies to Kelechi Iheanacho of Manchester City, he might be on international duty when the Citizens face Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium.

Odion Ighalo and Ikechi Anya will be hoping to be in the Watford squad that will play Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Finally, three players of Nigerian descent - Ross Barkley, Dele Alli and Josh Onomah- could be involved in action when Tottenham Hotspur take on Everton at Goodison Park in one of the standout fixtures.
