Former Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic may face Nigeria at the 2016 Olympic Games, with coach Hakan Ericson naming him to the provisional 35-man squad list for the competition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The experienced striker is one of seven players above the age limit that made the roster, but it remains unclear if he will feature in the Games and will only make a decision after the ongoing European Championship.
Five of the over-aged players, including Zlatan, played for teams outside Sweden last term : Alexander Milosevic (Hannover 96), Jiloan Hamad (Hoffenheim), Abbe Khalili (Mersin) and Isaac Kiese Thelin (Bordeaux), while Astrit Ajdarevic (örebro SK) and Alexander Falsetas (Djurgårdens IF) represent Allsvenskan clubs.
Sweden’s final squad will contain 18 players, including three players over the age of 23 years, and an additional four are on standby list.
