Ex-Golden Eaglets Star Alhassan Ibrahim Reacts After Netting Brace Against Pillars
Published: June 20, 2016
Former Golden Eaglets sensation Alhassan Ibrahim was full of joy after bagging a brace for Wikki Tourists in their 3-1 win over Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Professional Football League at the Abubakar Tafawa Stadium on Sunday.
With the league leaders a goal down, Ibrahim was introduced at the start of the second half and repaid the coach’s faith by first netting the equalizer in the 77th minute, then grabbed his second in stoppage time.
“It was really great not just that I scored against Pillars but I came into the game when my team was a goal down and made a great impact by helping the team to glory at the end of the game. I give glory to Allah, ” Alhassan Ibrahim told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Ibrahim joined Wikki Tourists in the second transfer window, snubbing the advances of a number of topflight teams in Nigeria, and has not regretted his choice one bit.
“A lot of teams showed interest in me but I sat down with my guardian to discuss about it, so finally we decided Wikki and we want to make history, that’s one of the many reasons we’re here.
“And in addition to that I have personal love with the people of Bauchi and I would like to use this opportunity to send my sincere gratitude to them all and I will mention a name Abba Naseer (Manna). Thank you a lot, ” the striker concluded.
In their next fixture in the NPFL, Wikki Tourists are guests to Plateau United.
