Iheanacho Tells Nigeria Fans To Support Man City Ahead Of Arsenal,Chelsea, Man Utd
Published: June 26, 2016Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has pleaded with Nigerian football fans based in Owerri to show their support for Manchester City ahead of the forthcoming season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Citizens number 72 was speaking to a group of fans who came to celebrate with him at a hotel in Owerri on Friday, June 24th following a successful season in the Premier League.
City are making inroads into the European and Asian markets but are lagging behind in Iheanacho’s homeland, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United the most supported clubs in Nigeria.
“Please come and support Manchester City, I am with Manchester City so everyone should support the club instead of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, ” Iheanacho told the fans.
“Owerri fans should show support for their brother. ”
In his debut season in England, Kelechi Iheanacho scored 8 goals ( 2 assists) in 26 matches in the English topflight.
