New Assists King Dele-Bashiru Bags Two As Man City Thrash Sunderland
Published: September 24, 2016Tom Dele-Bashiru continued his fine start to the season with a goal and two assists as Manchester City thrashed Sunderland 4-0 in the U18 Premier League at Academy of Light Training Ground on Saturday afternoon.
Dele-Bashiru started along with Will Patching in the center of midfield and did not starve the strikers of service, while England U18 international Ashinme Kigbu was part of a three-man defense.
On 40 minutes, the 17-year-old put City 2-0 up before setting up the third goal scored by Ian Carlo Poveda .
In four appearances for the Citizens U18 squad in the league, Dele-Bashiru has provided six assists in total, including his three helpers in the 7-0 rout of Liverpool in August.
Defenders Nathanael Ogbeta and Edward Elewa-Ikpakwu were not selected for today’s tie against Sunderland.
