Super Eagles GK Akpeyi : Our Quality Players Iheanacho, Iwobi Will Make The Difference
Published: November 11, 2016
With three points in the bag for Nigeria in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Zambia, all eyes will shift to the game the Super Eagles will be playing against Algeria at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Stadium on Saturday.
Chippa United goalie Daniel Akpeyi who is likely to start the big game in Uyo is sure of victory for the Super Eagles.
“We are in Uyo with the objective of earning the three points and that is what the coach has been making us understand,” Akpeyi said.
“The team have a knowledge of how the Algerians play, for sure they will prove stubborn to our ambition. Soccer is played on the pitch, quality is something that will make the difference.
“Super Eagles is a rebranded team with quality players (Iheanacho, Iwobi, Moses). We can’t afford to disappoint the fans on match day. ”
Super Eagles fans were indebted to the heroics of goalkeeper Carl Ikeme against Zambia in Ndola.
But the Wolves star has been ruled out for the big one due the injury he sustained in an English Championship fixture at Blackburn Rovers.
