Experienced Nigerian Coach Warns Super Eagles Ahead Of Battle Of Uyo
Published: November 11, 2016
Former Kwara United coach Samson Unuanel has has cautioned the Super Eagles ahead of the group phase of the 2018 World Cup qualification game against Algeria.
Nigeria are top of the table with 3 points from one game.
The German trained coach noted that the match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday will require great effort from the team should they intend to make their fifth World Cup appearance.
However, Unuanel was optimistic the team will overcome all obstacles and make the tournament in Russia.
“I think the next game, that’s Algeria will be a little difficult unlike the one we played against Zambia in a Ndola,” Unuanel said.
“This stage is where you face the best team in Africa but not withstanding I know and believe the Super Eagles can make it.
“They should just keep up their form and try as much as possible to get three points in Uyo, and I strongly believe they can qualify for Russia 2018."
Unuanel has also coached Niger Tornadoes, Ocean Boys, Sunshine Stars and Enyimba FC.
